NEW BARLOW PARK MIXED-USE RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
Updated: Jul 11, 2022
Barlow Park is set to become Sandton’s new residential neighbourhood, providing affordable, quality housing next to South Africa’s commercial capital, Sandton Central. Bulk earthworks for the first phase of the project has commenced, and will transform this landmark site from the corporate park that previously housed Barloworld Limited’s corporate head office into a modern residential mixed-use neighbourhood.
Property investor and developer Atterbury, which is leading the project together with Barloworld, was awarded the development based on its vision for a mixed-use precinct on the site. By introducing Divercity as co-developer, the development has been re-shaped into a top notch, multi-use neighbourhood. Moolman Group and Twin City Development are also co-investing in the project.
Barlow Park will offer a desirable location, safety and views of Sandton Central and Innesfree valley. It will create job opportunities during construction and after completion, contributing to the country’s economic recovery.
The development will include apartment blocks, a recreation centre, pool, clubhouse, coffee shop, gym and sports facilities, all set within an urban forest, landscaping and manicured gardens. Some of the new buildings have been designed around existing trees on the site, and all indigenous trees in the precinct will be preserved during the construction process.
